Solar are angels of godlike power.[1]

Abilities

According to the Monster Manual, 5th Ed., solars are resistant to radiant damage as well as bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical weapons. They are immune to necrotic and poison damage, and immune to the charmed, exhaustion, frightened, and poisoned conditions. Solars also have magic resistance, granting advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.[1]

History

On the eve of the Calamity, Cerrit Agrupnin went to investigate Vespin Chloras's chambers after hearing alarming murmurs about the mage's experiments. On the scene, Cerrit found a narrowly visible summoning circle created to bind a being of such power that it could escape the trap with ease. Here Cerrit also noticed a rusted part of mundane looking bow,[2] later identified as the bow of a solar. The full bow had been 12 feet in length and made out extraplanar gold, and it had held a powerful enchantment, which must have been removed by an indescribably mighty creature.[3]

During the Calamity, the solar Xalicas, the right hand of Corellon, was injured so badly she lost her ability to fly, see, or leave the Material Plane, and even the gods could not restore her. It took her over a hundred years to recover enough power to move again. She now wanders Wildemount, lending her power to those who will help her prevent destructive conflicts.[4]
