The Raven Tree is an offspring of the Sun Tree, grown in Zephrah from a sprig taken from Whitestone by Keyleth.^[1][2]

This Tree of the Sun takes its name from the raven feather that the tree has grown around. The feather came from the Deathwalker's Ward, which had been worn by Keyleth's first love: Vax'ildan, Champion of the Raven Queen.^[3] The Raven Tree also functions as a sort of memorial to Vax.

Keyleth took care to make sure the tree would grow along one of the arcane ley lines that cross Exandria. Thus, the Raven Tree maintains a magical connection to the Sun Tree. The archdruid's intention is to merge with the land of Exandria through this tree eventually, whenever she feels her extremely long lifetime has reached its end.^[4]

Trivia

• While the Raven Tree doesn't have any known special properties, its origins are very supernatural, coming from a tree born from the influence of three gods, and growing around a feather from a Vestige of Divergence.^[5]
• A larger-than-average raven would come to the Raven Tree every day, and it was quite friendly with Keyleth. Whether this was a sign from Vax, the Raven Queen, or someone else is unknown.
