Febron Keyes was an employee of The Gentleman in Berleben. As an NPC, Febron Keyes was played by Matthew Mercer.

Description

Appearance

Febron had one tooth; which was black and crooked from his bottom jaw, cracked lips, a wandering left eye, a balding head and jaundiced skin. By appearance, he looked to have been kicked by a horse a few times, have lived a rough life, and not taken care of himself.^[1]

Personality

Febron was unpleasant in some manner to every member of the Mighty Nein. His main personality traits seemed to be cowardice, greed, and lecherousness. He had a habit of flirting with his travelling companions, even at the worst of times.^[2] He found necromancy scary enough to back away from the Mighty Nein when they were being stalked by a troll.

Biography

"Labenda Awaits" (2x20)

The Mighty Nein met with Febron in the Keystone Pub under the instruction of The Gentleman. He was passed out drunk, but perked up when the Nein mentioned the Gentleman, only to say that he wanted nothing to do with it. He explained to the group that his job was to meet people, lead them to the safe house, and then escort them back out. However, the last time he returned there, he heard howling and saw corpses strung up outside as a warning and fled. The Nein gave him 100 gp and a drink, which successfully convinced him to escort the Nein there. They made the mistake of paying him on the spot, and realized he could leave without them, so they told him he had to sleep with one of them. He chose Yasha. Yasha shoved the bed across the door and refused to sleep in it, letting Febron take it for himself.

"Stalker in the Swamp" (2x21)

Febron lead them through the swamp but was snatched by a venom troll and slain by the poison seeped from its wounds when the Mighty Nein attacked it. The Mighty Nein later went to try to track down the troll and recover from it the gold that they had given him. In an attempt to get a pre-emptive strike on the troll, they used dynamite to start the encounter. This had the effect of destroying the interior of the troll's home, and scattering the gold, making it very difficult to recover.
